About us Something a bit different

About us

Founded in 1995, and now one of the foremost male voice choirs in the south, the 60 strong Romsey Male Voice Choir likes to give its audiences something just a bit different.

If passion makes performance, our love of music, and huge passion for singing and performing, lies behind what we do and how we do it. ‘Good enough is never good enough’ and RMVC’s approach to entertaining audiences, to organising concerts, and to how the Choir is run is both thoroughly professional and ambitious to do better and better.

Led by our very talented Musical Director, Marion Maxey, RMVC thrives on a challenge, performing some of the most difficult arrangements for male voice choirs and giving audiences a progressive and eclectic repertoire. With an undercurrent of informality, we aim to sing something for everyone. In concert programmes audiences should expect the unexpected as well as relishing old favourites and experiencing something distinctive (and often fun) in the performance and personality of the Choir.

More than just a Choir

Yes we take our singing seriously, but Romsey Male Voice Choir also takes seriously

  • Raising much needed funds for good causes
  • Giving young singers and musicians performance opportunities
  • Enjoying social time
  • Camaraderie and support

As a registered charity RMVC has raised thousands of pounds for good causes touching the hearts of its singers. We regularly share the stage with young people’s choirs, bands and soloists, and those who’ve attended our post-concert afterglows, or travelled with us on our annual ‘tour’, will know Team RMVC really does have the knack of enjoying itself. As importantly we care about each other as well as the partners and families of our singers.

Romsey Male Voice Choir is in demand locally as well as performing with other choirs. It has a full concert calendar including massed Male Voice Choir events and  Concerts featuring local schools.
