We all ‘Seized the Day’ at Hanger Farm.

I think it’s fair to say that RMVC, the fantastically talented Queen Bees, and the noisily appreciative audience, all loved the two acts performing in the warm and friendly Hanger Farm venue, with the huge added bonus of the event being in support of the excellent Minstead Trust.

Yes, it was just a bit of a squash on stage for fifty-two RMVC singers, plus, those at the back were trying hard not to suffer from the heat, but as always the choir rose magnificently to the occasion singing some of their favourites including Fix Me, Nessun Dorma and Bui Doi, and opened the concert with the rousing piece, Seize the Day from Newsies by Alan Menken.

Apart from their beautiful singing the Queen Bees brought a particular kind of sparkle to the concert, and as well as giving a wonderful rendition of Pie Jesu they too sang Seize the Day as part of their performance. This wholly unexpected coincidence was of course noticed by the  choristers though not, we suspect, by the audience which applauded both versions with gusto.

The grand finale, You’ll Never Walk Alone, featured all singers on stage, and with vocal encouragement this last piece was repeated.

Then it was onwards to the Afterglow for a glass of something revitalising, some great food and more of what we love best of all – singing!

Our grateful thanks to:

The Minstead Trust for inviting us to perform and providing such a lovely venue. We hope a lot of money was raised for your cause.

The Queen Bees for playing a large part in making the concert special – we hope to see you again.

Marion Maxey and Richard Stannard, there’s no doubting  we most definitely can’t do it without your talents.

Nick Grout for his compèring over the night, and getting so good at amusing the audience

The RMVC Ladies Support Group – wow! The food was brilliant, the raffle so well organised as always. Never let it be said that we take you for granted.
