It was Party Time
It is true that ‘Christmas comes but once a year’ and so….. (why not?) RMVC goes to town big time, or more precisely goes to the Romsey Golf Club, for its annual Christmas Party…..
This year perhaps we’ll let pictures tell the story. BUT what must not be left out are those who make it happen for those who sit back and enjoy.
- Firstly, RMVC’s Chairman & Deputy Chairman Kevin Cleary and Jim Philbin (great outfits chaps).
- Then the wonderful, super hard-working Lesley Cleary with fellow choir supporters who sort so many things behind the scenes.
- The on-the-night Entertainers Mick Summerhayes, President Keith Lawrenson & the Cinderella Panto team, Robert le Grice, Clive Matthews, Ron Taplin & Stan Farrell, Richard & Sue Stannard, James Viney, and last, but never least, Kevin Cleary and Clive Downton
- To Romsey Golf Club and the always friendly staff a big thanks
No RMVC party would be complete without singing. Richard Stannard on keyboard, carol sheets in hand, it was almost the best end to a great evening. However, one tradition had yet to be upheld. The Twelve Days of Christmas, with folks on each table launching themselves to their feet whilst belting out their part in the song. As always, those honoured (including our MD Marion Maxey) to perform ‘5 Gold Rings’ attempted outrageously to out-sing all others, despite attempts to thwart their mission by several of the adjoining tables!
A jolly end to another much loved, warm, happy evening of friendship and fun.
