Alexandra is RMVC’s fantastic new Patron
The Honourable Alexandra Knatchbull, who is in the line of succession to the British Throne, was born in London, but raised in Hampshire. A country girl, she is never happier than when at Broadlands - walking her dogs along the river. Now based in London for work, she lives in Notting Hill with her husband Tom, but she is also keen to give her commitment to worthy organisations in her home town. Asked about becoming RMVC Patron Alexandra said: 'It is a great pleasure and an honour to be a Patron of the Romsey Male Voice Choir. I will look forward to meeting the members and hearing the choir when I can. I am delighted to have been asked and will do what I can to further the success and reputation of this important and already impressive choir'.
RMVC Chairman Geoff Skinner said the Choir couldn’t be more pleased that Alexandra had said yes to his request to become a Patron, “The historic Broadlands Estate is at the centre of Romsey and Alexandra’s mother, Lady Brabourne is an active figure in the town. It is wonderful that her daughter, despite living in London, is prepared to support RMVC as she supports other local organisations. The Choir, which is an integral part of the rich cultural life of Romsey and its environs, has over the years raised thousands of pounds for charities alongside helping the development of young singers and musicians. I am quite sure that with Alexandra as Patron we will be able to do even more and we very much look forward to welcoming her to one of our concerts in the near future.”
