15 June 2024. It was so good to have friends Hart MVC join us for our Spring Concert.

Once more in the beautiful United Reformed Church in Romsey, between them the two choirs put together a concert of music with light and shade, boldness, humour and touching emotion. Some pieces such as Bring Him Home from Les Miserables, Bui Doi from Miss Saigon, How Great Thou Art and Country Roads, were well known to the audience, whilst others including Prayer of the Children, Tears in Heaven and Let All Men Sing brought a wonderful variety to achieve a promised eclectic programme.

The two choirs sang four pieces together. Speed Your Journey, conducted by Dr Haydn James, Gwahoddiad, conducted by Hart Musical Director Kevin Jacot and You Raise Me Up, conducted by our own Musical Director Marion Maxey, who also conducted the surprise encore Morte Criste.

We are especially grateful to our Patron and Hart MVC’s President Dr Haydn James for joining us on the night and for conducting, as well as giving us his amazing arrangements of two of the pieces sung. We thank our two talented Musical Directors, Marion and Kevin, and two equally talented Accompanists, Judith Morgan and Brian Budden. We indulge ourselves, and our fellow singers in Hart MVC, with a pat on the back both for doing it, and for doing it well on the night, and as always we are enormously grateful to our audience.

Finally, it is worth noting that the much anticipated, let your hair down, Afterglow absolutely did what it said on the tin…..thank to you Liz and Fiona at the Nightingale Pub in Romsey for looking after us and letting us sing!
